How to Get Paid to Clip Videos in 2026
Get paid to clip videos: cut the best 60 seconds from a long podcast, stream or interview, post it as a short, and get paid per 1,000 views — or get paid by the creator directly. That is the whole business. This site explains how to make money clipping honestly: the three real ways it pays, the gates on each one, and the tools that make it fast. No earnings promises. No typical-income figure, because no reliable source gives one.
The three honest ways clippers get paid
There are three routes, and they pay on different timelines. One, per-view campaigns. Brands and creators fund a campaign on Whop Content Rewards or Vyro, set a rate per 1,000 verified views, and supply footage. You cut a clip, post it, submit the link, and get paid on the views it earns. This is the only route that pays a brand-new account from day one. Two, direct work for a creator. A podcaster or YouTuber pays you per clip or on a monthly retainer to clip their show. This is where the bigger single cheques live, but creators pay for proof, so it usually lands in weeks three to six, not week one. Three, your own clip channel. You build an audience on TikTok, Shorts or Reels and earn from platform programs and affiliate links. This is the slow compounding layer — it needs search and social traffic first, typically 60 to 90 days to rank and grow, then clicks, then purchases, then a hold period before anything lands.
Most beginners should start with route one, use the best clips as a portfolio, and pitch route two in parallel. Route three is what this website is: a search asset that earns referral income after it ranks. It is not the fast money. If anyone tells you clipping is easy money in a week, they are selling you something.
What clipping actually pays (October–November 2026 research)
| Route | Typical rate | Gate | When it pays |
|---|---|---|---|
| Whop Content Rewards | Median $1.30 per 1,000 views; range $0.20–$5.00 (Oct 2026, 708 campaigns surveyed) | 18+, no follower minimum for most campaigns | Views counted 7 days, held ~3 days; $10 minimum withdrawal |
| Vyro | Live campaigns $1–$1.50 per 1,000 views (Oct 2026) | 18+, 5,000-view floor per clip | Weekly, from $10 |
| TikTok Creator Rewards | $0.40–$1.00 per 1,000 qualified views; finance $1.00–$1.80 | 10,000 followers + 100,000 views in 30 days, original videos over 1 minute | Paid on the 15th, the month after earning; $50 minimum under US terms |
| YouTube Shorts (YPP) | $0.03–$0.07 per 1,000 views typical; finance/tech $0.15–$0.25 | 1,000 subscribers + 10M Shorts views in 90 days (20M from Feb 1, 2027) | Monthly, after the threshold |
| Direct retainer | $200–$500/month for 10–15 clips; $500–$1,200 for 20–30 clips | Portfolio of 3–5 good clips | Per the deal, usually monthly |
Read those numbers as a range, not a promise. A typical Whop clip earns about 7,000 views, which is about $7.80 at $1 per 1,000 views after the 10% fee. A median newcomer posting 20 or more videos in month one collected a median of 21,800 views, about $22 at $1 per 1,000. About 1 in 14 new clippers passed 1 million views. The median clipper, across all the data we found, had earned about $24 in total. That is the honest baseline. The people who earn real money from clipping do it with volume, high-rate campaigns, and at least one outlier clip — or one direct retainer.

If you are new, read these in order. How to make money clipping lays out the three routes with the math. How to become a clipper is the six-step setup: accounts, tools, warm-up, first clips. Whop Content Rewards explains the main marketplace, and best clipping platforms compares Whop, Vyro and the Discord campaign sources. How much do clippers make is the no-hype numbers page. Tools covers the free stack that finds moments and finishes clips.
One warning that saves accounts: do not re-upload someone else’s clip with only captions or a filter and call it yours. TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram all cut reach for re-uploads without real transformation now, and YouTube can refuse monetisation for reused content even when you had permission. Every clip on this site’s method adds your voiceover, your commentary, your verdict, or your own screen-recorded test. That is the work. That is also what makes a clip eligible to earn.

Frequently asked questions
Is clipping a real way to make money?
Yes, in the narrow sense that brands pay per 1,000 views on Whop Content Rewards and Vyro, and creators pay per clip or on retainer. It is not easy money: a median newcomer earned about $22 in month one in the data we found, and the median clipper overall had earned about $24 in total.
Do I need followers to start clipping?
No, for Whop and Vyro campaigns. Most campaigns have no follower minimum. You need followers for TikTok Creator Rewards (10,000) and for YouTube Shorts monetisation (1,000 subscribers plus 10 million Shorts views in 90 days).
Is clipping legal?
Clipping someone else's footage without permission or a campaign licence is a copyright risk, and permission does not fix platform monetisation rules. The safe routes are campaign-supplied footage, explicit permission, or your own commentary and demo that genuinely transforms the clip. This is general information, not legal advice.
